01 - The Beginning

Why We Started

Ritual was founded in 2019 in an effort to raise the standard of coffee in the Cotswolds. It was born from a gap we kept seeing in the speciality coffee market. Everyone was obsessing over origin, processing and roast profiles and rightly so. But the person pulling the shot? The team opening up at 6 am? The systems that keep a café running smoothly through a Saturday rush?

That side of the story wasn't getting the attention it deserved. We built Ritual in 2019 to close that gap. To roast coffee that performs consistently, and to back it up with the tools, training and support that help café teams do their best work, every shift.

How we operate

Sourcing Our Coffee:

We source seasonally and roast for consistency. Every bag is designed to deliver clarity and balance in the cup — whether it's your first pour of the morning or the last flat white before close. Ethically sourced, hand-roasted in Cheltenham, and profiled for real café conditions.

Supporting Our Partners:

We believe the person behind the machine matters as much as what's in the hopper. That's why we invest in training programmes, regular check-ins and practical resources that help baristas and café owners grow — not just serve.
